What began as a need for better remote access ultimately evolved into a broader initiative to simplify connectivity, centralize machine performance data, and create a stronger foundation for future service offerings, all through the Corvina Platform.
Corvina was introduced as part of a wider X Platform architecture that also included EXOR HMI devices and JMobile at machine level. While the eX707M and eX715M provided GTech with the dedicated HMI and edge environment onboard the machine, Corvina enabled the company to manage remote access, IoT data collection, and customer-specific service workflows from a centralized platform.
Before introducing Corvina, GTech relied on a traditional architecture built around industrial PCs, Windows environments, separate software licenses, and third-party remote access tools.
The system worked, but it required multiple layers to support even basic service workflows. Remote diagnostics depended heavily on external tools, while machine data collection required additional infrastructure and manual processes.
As the company began integrating vibration diagnostics into its machines, the limitations of the existing approach became more obvious.
The goal was no longer just remote access, it was creating a centralized environment where machines, service teams, and industrial data could all work together more efficiently.

Corvina enabled the company to collect and manage IoT tags directly within the platform, helping create a more scalable approach to diagnostics and future preventive maintenance strategies.
Rather than manually retrieving information from machines, the data is now part of an integrated environment designed for long-term accessibility and analysis.
Corvina also helped GTech improve how customers interact with their machines.
Using Corvina’s hierarchical structure, the company can organize customer environments individually, allowing users to securely access only the machines relevant to them.
This provides customers with better visibility into their equipment while allowing GTech to maintain centralized oversight and support capabilities.
The result is a more service-oriented machine platform, one designed not only for operation, but also for long-term support and future digital services.
While the immediate goal was simplifying remote access and diagnostics, the project also established a strong foundation for future development.
